My friend was telling me about this in Australia – you have your own refillable water bottle and go to the nearest refill station when you’re out and about to refill. I don’t think it’s filtered though, so not quite the same, but better than needing to buy a bottle of water when you’re out and about and thirsty! They even have an app to find your nearest refill station…
